She brings a background of diverse work experience to AMR Labs. Dr. Murphy has worked in the pharmaceutical industry in antibiotic development for Schering-Plough Corporation.
At Rutgers University, she taught courses in general microbiology, applied microbiology, microbial ecology, public health microbiology and biotechnology. She served as faculty coordinator and instructor for the course in Recombinant DNA Techniques offered by the Department of Continuing Professional Education, Cook College, Rutgers University.
Dr. Murphy has been a consultant for the Biotechnology Training and Consulting Institute, Bridgewater, New Jersey, specializing in protein separation methods and enzymology. Dr. Murphy serves as Vice President of AMR Laboratories and is responsible for new testing and assay development.
State of the Art Facilities
AMR has established our state of the art testing facility in Plymouth Meeting, PA. This laboratory is designed to facilitate the processing of large numbers of samples in a manner that optimizes productivity while maintaining strict control over cross-contamination between preparative and processed samples.
The facility includes a sample preparation lab, a negative pressure PCR amplification lab used for testing PCR samples, a photography lab and a multipurpose lab.
Laboratories are well equipped with instrumentation required for molecular biological procedures. Large cold storage walk-in coolers (4°, - 20°) as well as ample low temperature storage (- 80°C) are available for long term storage of critical specimens. Offices containing administrative areas for customer services are also utilized. Faxing and e-mail capability allows for quick reporting of test results.
